BigBlueButton
Q: Where can I get help to learn how to use BigBlueButton?
A: For questions regarding the video conferencing module of the research chat at Justus-Liebig-University Giessen based on BigBlueButton please join the “support” channel in the Mattermost Lobby: Click on “More …” at the bottom of the list of public channels and select the “support” channel in the popup window. A detailed documentation can be found on the BigBlueButton homepage.
Q: What is the recommended setup for BigBlueButton?
A: We recommend a headset for all participants. This will notably reduce audio echo and environmental noise in the audio streams. We also recommend to only use video cams if necessary; video has a higher bandwidth requirement and users with low bandwidth or oversubscribed connections may suffer from a bad conference quality.
Q: What are the limits for upload of presentations?
A: Currently the limit for a single presentation is 30 MB. In case your presentation is larger, you might consider splitting it into smaller files or try to compress the file (e.g. by reducing the resolution). We suggest to upload presentations directly as PDF files as your presentation will be converted to PDF anyway.
